There is really only one way to learn French language and that is to simply practice your hearts out by speaking it with others. I am an immersion student in the Eastern part of Canada and I can say that learning French has been one of the most exciting things that my life has been offered. Schools here teach it in elementary up to high school, so there is no real hassle in learning French language.

Most people who begin to learn the French language don’t know what their getting themselves into. They think that it’s going to be a breeze and they’ll sail right through the class without even trying. Well they got another thing coming; French is a really hard language to learn. There are so many verbs and literal meanings that a person can really get fed up with it pretty quickly. Don’t worry though French has it upsides, you can speak your way through most of France and through many parts of Europe. French is also very important when applying for a job in Canada, employers look to see if you’re a bilingual and if you are that’s a big time bonus for you and them.

When learning French in schools or a class, it’s very important to practice your verbs and literal meanings. These two linguistic factors come into play all the time when learning French language.

Verbs are very hard and difficult to understand at points in your education. Don’t be afraid though, once you tackle the basic verbs you can have a basic understanding of each and every other verb.

A very important book to have when learning French language is called a Bescherelle, this book has helped me out oh so many times when I was learning French. It’s a book that teaches you every verb in the French language, it also gives you the different tenses for the verbs and how you would correctly interpret each one of them so that you can form fluent sentences.

If you’re going to teach yourself how to speak French then you will have a harder time, you will need to practice all the time with friends that are French. Trust me; not knowing how native French people speak is a big factor, understanding certain expressions and meanings that French people use is a huge portion of understanding French. Learning the French language yourself can be a good idea though; you can learn it at your own speed and not at the speed of a class of 30 students.

A big factor when learning French in classes is to always ask for help when you don’t understand something. If you’re going to be a shy person and just try to do work that makes no sense to you whatsoever then you might as well drop out of the class while your at it. No one should be afraid to ask their teacher (who is getting paid to help students) for help. Please ask your teacher for help with something you don’t understand she/he will give you the best literal understanding that they can.
