Many people would say that it is difficult to learn French (or any language) independently and it can sometimes be difficult for someone to commit to learning on their own. I would argue differently though and say there are many really great reasons to learn French on your own.

There are a lot people who talk about the right way to learn to speak French and many advise against learning independently. I feel differently because though my own experiences I have learned that if the interest in learning French is there, independently may be the best way to go. Here are some good reasons to find a program and learn to speak French on your own.

Price- I am really motivated by a good price. For me it is the difference in whether I do or do not do something. While many independent language learning programs can be pricey, if you look around you may find a good deal on a quality program. See if your program offers an instant download version, sometimes this can mean the difference of $100.

Variety- Learning language independently allows you to learn in a variety of ways. For instance, the program I used has audio, illustrations, games, and a learning forum where teachers are on hand to help out if you need it.

Convenience- Simply put you learn on your own time and in your own way. This is beneficial because learning the way you want to prevents boredom. When we are forced to learn the way others want and on their schedule, there is the possibility of losing interest or falling behind.

These are just some of the great reasons why learning to speak French independently is a good idea. Really it is about learning in your own style and having fun. Find a program that appeals to you and learn at your own pace. Au revoir!

How would you like to learn French the fast and fun way? It’s never been easier to learn a new language. There is so much information available to us, but where should you start? Read on for my techniques on how to learn French the fast and fun way.

Learn French the Fast and Fun Way – Technique 1: Start by using the internet – All you need is a computer and an internet connection. Not only is the internet one of the fastest way of accessing information, but it’s also FREE! There are thousands of websites dedicated to learning French – some present ways of building your vocabulary, others have quizzes, whilst some offer audio recordings and video clips. There are so many options available that you are bound to find the perfect method to suit your learning style.

Learn French the Fast and Fun Way – Technique 2: Why not take a trip to France! The best way to learn a new language is to immerse yourself in the culture. You’ll pick up the language in no time. Books and CDs can only teach you so much, but by doing it this way you will experience French culture and the language first hand. There are thousands of last minutes deals on the internet – you’ll be amazed how cheap some of these vacations are. For those more adventurous why not relocate to France? By jumping in at the deep end you will be forced to swim.

Learn French the Fast and Fun Way – Technique 3: Private tuition is often a popular choice. There are many benefits to learning French in a one 2 one setting. Tuition will allow you to work at your own pace and give you the option to tailor your education to suit your needs. Tuition also offers the added bonus of having someone to speak French to. Those who learn in this way often feel that they have a much better grasp of the language and are more confident French speakers.

Learn French the Fast and Fun Way – Technique 4: Why not invest in a course of some kind? This will allow you to learn French in the comfort of your own home, whilst working at your own pace. Courses offer a more structured way of learning and help keep people motivated. Courses often include multimedia such as CDs, interactive CDroms and DVDs. Some newer courses even offer MP3s which can be uploaded on to you Ipod, allowing you to learn on the go!

I hope the techniques I have suggested have helped you realise how easy it is to learn French the fast and fun way. Why not check out the links below for more information on learning French and the courses available.

There’s no question at all that learning a new language is a lot easier than it was 10 years ago. This has nothing to do with how the language is taught; it is all about how much easier it is for you to access the information you need. The internet really has opened up the doors to making life easier for everyone who uses it. Learning how to speak French online is no exception to this.

Thousands of people search the internet every month looking to learn how to speak French online. Everyone will obviously have their own unique reasons for wanting to learn the language, some for pleasure and some for business. French is spoken by over 75 million people all over the world, so it could come in handy wherever you go in the world. You don’t just have to learn French to speak it in France. Many countries all over the world have their own French principalities.

There are a few different ways for you to learn how to speak French online. These are in the forms of free and paid courses. If you want to learn the language correctly, then you should ideally avoid trying to find out all you need from free websites. More often these sites may be inaccurate but also won’t have all the details you need.

The paid online French courses are different. They have a plan all set out for you to follow with ease. You can do them at your own pace and there is no pressure to finish a certain section at a set time. You can do it from the comfort of your own home whenever you choose. You can also access the entire course, so if you need to look back at a particular section, you can do. Many of them give you the ability to download audio files too, so you can then listen to them whenever you choose. Maybe when you go for a walk or run. Or even in the car on the way to work. The choice is yours.

Just don’t rush into it and get confused or distracted when you first start out learning how to speak French online. Take your time and do every step as it is laid out for you. You’ll be fluent before you know it!

Many people want to learn to speak French as the global boundaries are shrinking and traveling internationally is becoming more affordable. There are many countries all over the world where French is the predominant language. Plus there are many sports with the majority of terms in French such as ballet and fencing. It just makes sense to pick up the French language.

One way to learn to speak French is from a book. Usually you can find a French book and workbook combo that you can buy. This allows you to learn at your own pace. Except for pronunciation problems. Some books do have websites where you can listen to mp3 audio of French words being spoken. I found that it was not a good method to learn French.

Another well known way to to buy French language tapes or cds. To buy this course though, even just the beginner section, was a few hundred dollars! I didnt want to drop that much money on a course that I wasnt sure was going to work. Plus after you open the tapes or cds you cant return the course.

At this point I was frustrated. I wanted to learn French, I wanted to learn it correctly with pronunciation help from a native French speaker and I wanted to learn it at home or on my iPod at my own pace on my own time. Where could I find this without blowing several hundred dollars?

I started researching on the web and somehow stumbled across a site and program called Rocket French. The program is less than $100, which met my cheap criteria. Its also taught by a native French speaker and you can have pronunciation help right there in the program. Perfect! There are over 11 hours of audio and grammar lessons and it helps you learn interactively. I am really happy with Rocket French and amazed at how I could learn to speak French so quickly!

A goodly number of world citizens have decided to learn to speak French in this day and age. Why have they chosen to learn French? With world travel expected in many careers, not knowing another language especially French can be a handicap and may even cost you the job.

When you barely have time to buy groceries, the idea of signing up for painting classes or French lessons is beyond the pale. That’s why I think learn to speak French software programs that you can use at home are terrific. The best software program is one that is interactive and makes learning fun.

One fun way to learn to speak French is to read French language blogs. Another way to learn French is through a firm grasp of the grammar, which will build your confidence in accurate and confident communication.

Have you noticed how many people took a foreign language in high school or college only to completely forget it a few years later? If you don’t use it you’ll lose it! You already sat through French class once and who wants to go through that again? I’d really like a French course I can do at home, at my own pace that’s not boring. Is there anything like that available?

I have found a program that allows you to learn French at your own pace, at home, in privacy if you’re embarrassed but it’s interactive and fun. Plus I learned to speak fluent French much faster than I thought I would. This program is called Rocket French.

The best way to learn to speak French is to put yourself around native French speaking people. Just making the effort to learn French is half the battle.

I don’t know about you but I didn’t do so well studying French at school. At the time I didn’t really see the point. Of course later on when I actually wanted to learn French I regretted not paying more attention. At forty years plus I also didn’t want to return to the classroom! Fortunately I discovered learn to speak French software.

Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not against classroom learning of French – in fact I think it’s a very good way to learn and I did have a little private tutoring. The problem for me, and I’m sure for many busy people, is finding the time on a regular basis to attend class. With private tutoring I could at least vary the times to suit myself but it is a very expensive option. A few hundred dollars doesn’t go very far on one-to-one French lessons!

On the other hand a few hundred dollars can get you an astonishing variety of learn to speak French software. Prices start at just over $10.00 and although packages exist that will take several hundred dollars off you I don’t think it’s necessary to spend that much to get a good basic level of the French language.

There are far too many French language software programs for me to cover them all. A quick search will turn up literally hundreds. What I can try to do is tell you about some of the alternatives and what I see as the benefits.

Let’s start with the benefits.

Learn to speak French software will allow you to learn at your own pace. Any time you have access to a computer you can learn some French. Some products in the middle price range – say around $100.00 – will also have French MP3s, sound files that you can copy to an MP3 player or onto a CD so you can have French lessons while you’re walking around, on the train or driving.

Modern French language software incorporates a variety of systems to help you learn French quickly. Digital flash cards, memory games, involving and entertaining animations or movie clips. All these things keep your French learning varied, and if they keep you interested you’re more likely to learn French fast. For the traditionalist you should also find transcripts of any audio that you can print out and read. Supporting your French lessons by reading the texts is always a good idea anyway.

The alternatives?

The number of French software alternatives will depend on your budget. It’s probably not true of all cheap French software but at the bottom of the range those I’ve tried are quite limited. There are some good starters for kids but if you’re looking to speak fluent French you’d be better off with something a bit more complex.

Unfortunately of course this means a bit more expensive. However, if you compare $100 spent on learn to speak French software with money spent on private lessons it soon seems a bargain and for your money you can get systems like Rocket French that boast that they will have you confident in the French language in as little as eight weeks. Some systems offer free trials too.

At the top end you can buy systems for several hundred dollars that if followed to their conclusion will teach you a great deal of French. Whether the additional expense is worth the detailed grammatical knowledge is difficult to quantify. If you’re visiting France on holidays then you can probably get what you need in the mid-range but if you’re intending to live here permanently it might be worth it. Unless you’ve got deep pockets you’ll need to investigate each alternative carefully!

Conclusions?

So is learn to speak French software really the easy way to learn French? I would have to say that much as I enjoy a good read, books cannot compete with modern French language software systems. They can be not just educational but also involving and fun! There is no comparison with how we learned when I was at school. Whether your eighteen or eighty you will learn French faster.

To this day, I can still remember my four month back-packing trek across Europe and of the many wonderful sites and experiences. But what stood out for me was the fact that most Europeans, young or old alike, spoke English and at least one or two other languages. I would often feel guilty for having to communicate in their country in English and not in their language. How often as North Americans when we travel to foreign countries face the invisible wall of language, which keeps us hemmed in and somewhat restricted and limited in our experiences of the people and culture of that country.

On my return home I resolved to learn French so that the next time I re-visited Europe, I would be at the very least bilingual. I no longer wanted to be the typical monolingual North American. And you have to admit that we are living in a global community in which the world is no longer such a big place. I wanted to be apart of this global community

So, why should you learn a language? The reasons are many so I won’t bore you with the “why”and they can be addressed on the next article. But as Martin H. Fischer says, “Any man who does not make himself proficient in at least two languages other than his own is a fool.” And the benefits range from the personal to the biological and listing them would be redundant.

I chose French as my first language because my husband is French and I’m an Anglophone living in a French environment. I also love the sound of the language and the French cuisine and culture.

By what means was I going to employ to learn French fluently. I chose to learn online. I wanted to learn French the easy way with the convenience of learning at home, having my own hours and learning at my own pace. I wanted to find a proficient language package that was innovative as well as educationally and linguistically sound yet affordable. Okay, let’s cut to the chase and review what this package entails so as not remain a “fool”:

Firstly, this package is portable. If you can access the Internet, you can go online and listen to a French lesson or do a grammar exercise. If you want to use your mp3 player to learn French vocabulary, just download one or more audio lessons and begin to learn. If you want to burn a CD to learn French fluently, once you’ve downloaded the audio to iTunes or Windows Media Player, insert your CD-Rom and synchronize. This enables you to save and use time effectively especially if you want to learn fast.

Secondly, you can learn how to speak French fluently with a real French accent because the program and the interactive software games uses native French speakers. So you get to hear authentic French spoken instead of reading a boring textbook and guessing how to pronounce the words. You can also quickly learn the language as most lessons and games are between 15 to 34 minutes.

Finally, you will learn how to speak French online because they teach you the 31 most useful French conversations. This is very practical especially if you desire to communicate in a proficient manner when visiting a French speaking country. They also have an online forum so that you can have access to teachers and fellow students for further support.

So, don’t be a “fool”, break the language barrier and join the global village. Learn French so that when a French visitor speaks to you in French on your home turf, you’ll be proud to respond to him/her in French.

For many people, the thought of learning a new language seems like a daunting task, and indeed if you don’t have the right tools it can be. If you want to learn French quickly, then you will need to totally immerse yourself in the language.

There are many ways to learn a language but there are really no shortcuts. The only way it is going to work is if you are committed to practicing your lessons each and every day. In order to be able to speak French like a native you are going to have to work at it diligently.

It is not any more difficult to learn how to speak French than it is to learn how to speak any other foreign language, if you plan to learn it systematically. The first thing you should do is enroll in a professional course. There are two choices.

The first is to find such a foreign language lab or institution in your local area which offers beginner or advanced French courses, depending on the level that you need. The second option is to go online and search for reputed organizations that teach French online.

The online option is the favorite of most people because it is extremely convenient, affordable and effective. Online learning is convenient because you do not have to commute to and from any facility, as you can use your home or office computer to download the necessary materials to complete the interactive lessons.

Online learning is affordable because it will cost less than hiring a private tutor or enrolling in a regular French language school, since the online courses are designed to be within the reach of the vast majority of the world wide population. As well, online learning is effective because it provides you with everything a regular course would have offered, yet you can access it anytime you want and work at your own pace.

French language schools know that the secret to learning French or any language is to let the students hear the language being spoken constantly. Listening to French being spoken by people with the proper dialect is a necessity, and one you can accomplish by watching French TV.

Try and immerse yourself in anything French, such as news, movies and music. If you want to learn to speak French, then you will have to practice as much as you can, preferably 8 hours a day or more. The key to learning to speak French is to have the commitment and the desire to succeed.

Try to learn as much of the French vocabulary as quickly as you can. This is the foundation on which you will be able to build your fluency of the language. In order for you to be able to converse in French and be understood you will also need to understand French grammar and how to conjugate a French verb.

Reading and practicing as much as you can will help you to accomplish this end. In order for you to speak French like a native you are going to have to put in a lot of hard work, but it will be well worth the effort. Bon chance!
