Despite advertisements such as “learn french in 30 days,” there is no shortcut to learn to speak and write fluently but it is possible to accelerate learning. Read our advice to learn french of the most effective way.

Immerse yourself in the language, practice, practice, practice! I strongly suggest you for a period and to the extent possible, you cut everything except the french, of course! Read newspapers and magazines, watch television, listen to the radio. Get in touch with as many people as possible. Discuss with someone who know french language very well don’t be shame and don’t be afraid of the mistakes. The aim is to TALK!

The more you’re exposed to the french language, the less you use your native language and the more you learn quickly. Learning by heart the grammar’s rules is one thing, but nothing beats practical experience! Apply these tips, you measure your progress very quickly.

Television is probably the fastest way to increase your level of understanding and listening. It costs nothing and you hear people who speak naturally. Do not expect to understand everything, it is sometimes difficult for people who have a good level of french. The more you listen, the more you improve your vocabulary and without too much effort.

You can use different method or either way to learn the french language. There is no limitation for which approach you are going to learn it’s just a matter of time and effort. But you need the learning guide to lead you to the right direction. To have a better insight into the language over time, it would be useful for you to study the french culture also.

The fastest way to learn how to speak French is by listening to people speaking French. You can go to a French speaking country to learn, which is the expensive option, or you can use a language course with audio files, the cheaper option.

You need to be motivated to speak French

To start learning how to speak French you must have a reason. People don’t normally pluck a language out of the air and say, ” I’ll learn this one”. The reason, what ever it may be, is a good starting motivation and in fact, it could keep you motivated throughout the learning process. For example, you might have a job interview in France and you need to communicate in French to secure the job, this is a strong motivation. Whatever your motivation, remember its this, that started the interest in learning to speak French, so use it to keep yourself interested.

Use audio lessons to learn

Using audio is by far, the easiest and fastest way to learn how to speak French. Modern French learning courses use interactive audio files, which means you listen, speak and repeat. The more you hear the French language, the easier it gets and the more understanding you have about the sounds you are hearing. This is how children learn to speak there native language, they are listening to there parents speaking every day then eventually they repeat what they are hearing.

Listening is the key to success for adults

It’s a fact that when children learn to speak for the first time they are in the correct environment for learning, they are listening and learning all the time and listening is the key. Even if you don’t know what you’re listening to, your brain is trying to make sense of it and as adults, we have less time to just sit and listen, but with modern technology such as iPods, mp3 players and even the car stereo there is more opportunity to just listen to French being spoken.

When learning to speak French make sure your chosen course has audio lessons or move to France and listen to the real thing.
