Are you looking to learn how to speak French but you don't know where to start? I tackle this question and outline the exact steps that you should take to learn how to speak French in the following article.

Are you looking to learn how to speak French? If your answer is an emphatic YES, I can tell you that you are not alone. If you are travelling to a French speaking country, speaking their language marks an enormous respect. This respect can go a long way once you are in need of any help or just information. Whatever reason you have, the most important factor to learn how to speak french is how committed you are.

The best first steps you can take to ensure that learning French will be easy and painless are:

Step 1: Brush up the BASICS of your own language structure and grammar.

That’s right! I am not saying that you have to go back to your old grammar book and review it from beginning to the end. I am just suggesting you to review the main components of a sentence and how you use them and in what order to compose a sentence. The reason you have to do that is because when you learning french you will continuously looking for similarities with your language. This way it will come much easier when you will try to understand and remember new vocabularies and parts of the sentences. This is called Similarities Analogues and it happens when between the two languages there is an analogous use.

For example, in Italian, prepositions words like over, under, in, around correspond in many ways on how they work in English. With the only difference that in Italian prepositions can have many meanings. Besides if you forgot what is a preposition in your language, all those analogies will mean nothing for you, and it will be more difficult to comprehend prepositions in the French language. It is necessary to open your mind to new rules and concepts that you might find nonsense and just need to master them for the way they are. For example when everything you come across in French has not similarities in your language, it will put off the majority of the people that try to make sense of it using the rules of their language. At that point you just need to memorize it without questioning.

Step 2: Listen and repeat French in a quiet place if possible.

After you have brushed up the BASICS of your language you can go to the next step. Listening and repeating French if possible in a quiet place as to forget the outside world for the time being. The fastest way to start developing your listening is the two way approach:

First is the Slow approach, where you need to listen to French with a beginner audio course where the pace of the speaker is usually slow. There are many courses on-line that you can download or on a CD. Free courses tend to be limited.

Second is the Fast approach. While you listening to your beginner French course you should try watching few french movies, with or without subtitles, as to get acquainted with the speed and pronunciation. Also if available you could listen to french radio or TV channels even if with little or none understanding.

As you are listening you should repeat the words or phrases immediately. Try repeating the words and phrases immediately concentrating on the sound of the words. Stop and repeat anything you like. Usually finding how to pronounce the alphabet is the first thing one should do. Repeat it singing and notice the similarities and the differences to your alphabet memorizing the latter. If necessary you can make a new song out of it.

Step 3: Start Talking

You can now begin making easy conversation be it real or simulated. Yes even if you can only say ‘hello, what’s your name’ you need to begin doing that at the very start of your learning. If you wait to get to that country before starting you are risking to never begin. It may sound funny at first but you need to start taking the embarrassment you might have to your advantage. Simply say to your audience that you are learning with a smile and you will be rewarded with ‘patience’. Be Humorous like ‘Sorry my French is bad’ and you will disarm anyone.

There are very few people in this world that don’t admire the French language. Because it is a beautiful one, many people would like to learn it. But, it is a difficult language and requires proper instruction. There are interesting ways in learning to speak French, thankfully. Of course, learning French in countries and areas where it is a commonly used a language, it isn’t difficult to pick up on.

However, for those who don’t know anyone that speak the language, or live in an area that uses French, it can be challenging. One way that can help you learn this romantic language is by purchasing an audio-based program. This way, you’ll listen to speakers who speak clearly, and you will repeat the words and sentences. This is one of the best ways to learn French quickly.

For many people, writing and reading skills are important as well. Thankfully, several programs also include this type of instruction. They will help you to enrich in your vocabulary, learn how to conjugate verbs, and many more crucial things.

Additionally, you will also benefit in the way that they are taught with these programs. They often use humor to keep the person interested. It isn’t uncommon for people to stop learning a language because of confusion and boredom.

You can also try to learn French by getting some of your favorite TV shows or movies with voiceovers. They make learning a language very interesting as you get to listen to the language you are learning as well as watching a show that you are interested in.

One other great way of trying to learn French is with online courses. They are just as good as enrolling in a course. The only differences are that you get to do this from home and you get to choose your schedule. Additionally, you’ll also benefit from the lower costs, as compared to the conventional courses.

Despite advertisements such as “learn french in 30 days,” there is no shortcut to learn to speak and write fluently but it is possible to accelerate learning. Read our advice to learn french of the most effective way.

Immerse yourself in the language, practice, practice, practice! I strongly suggest you for a period and to the extent possible, you cut everything except the french, of course! Read newspapers and magazines, watch television, listen to the radio. Get in touch with as many people as possible. Discuss with someone who know french language very well don’t be shame and don’t be afraid of the mistakes. The aim is to TALK!

The more you’re exposed to the french language, the less you use your native language and the more you learn quickly. Learning by heart the grammar’s rules is one thing, but nothing beats practical experience! Apply these tips, you measure your progress very quickly.

Television is probably the fastest way to increase your level of understanding and listening. It costs nothing and you hear people who speak naturally. Do not expect to understand everything, it is sometimes difficult for people who have a good level of french. The more you listen, the more you improve your vocabulary and without too much effort.

You can use different method or either way to learn the french language. There is no limitation for which approach you are going to learn it’s just a matter of time and effort. But you need the learning guide to lead you to the right direction. To have a better insight into the language over time, it would be useful for you to study the french culture also.

Learning French seems impossible to some people, but we're to break that myth. Learning French isn't hard - today we show you how to become fluent quickly and have fun at the same time.

Learning French seems impossible to some people, but we’re to break that myth. Learning French isn’t hard – today we show you how to become fluent quickly and have fun at the same time.

No doubt learning French can be more difficult as an adult, when compared to a child or a high school student. This is largely because as you grow up your means of learning undergo a distinct change. If a grown up is learning a language he or she will learn it by comparing it to the language they already know. A child on the other hand, just takes in whatever he is taught and as and when he is taught.

As an adult you will want to know and understand the logic and reasoning behind each and every utterance. You would want to know why something is said the way it is said. And being in a traditional classroom language-learning mode might be frustrating to say the least. As we grow in age, our abilities to pick up a new language become weakened, than say compared to when we were in school.

But this does not mean that as an adult you can’t learn the French language. The French language is fluid and exciting and you can pick it up easily, no matter how old you are. You just need to find a course which suits your specific needs and can be worked into your daily schedule. In recent years great and significant developments have been made in the area of language education.

All you need to do is to keep certain things in mind, which can make your French learning experience enjoyable and fun.

Practice, Practice, Practice!

Practice as much as you can: If you want to learn to speak French fluently, you need to practice it as often as possible. One thing you can do is put up notices in your work place or in your locality to find people who would be interested in practicing French with you. Or you can join Alliance Franoise. You can join classes with a friend, and you can practice both inside and outside class.

Listen!

One useful way to learn French is passively listening to it. Even though you might not be able to comprehend all that you listen to will still get familiar with pronunciation and usage of words. You can also listen to French music tapes while commuting from one place to another. To keep you occupied and entertained while also helping you learn.

Varying Your Practice

Work out a schedule for the whole week. Do different things everyday. With monotony, you might get bored quickly and loose interest in Learning French.

Do it everyday

If you are seeking to become fluent in French language you have to practice it everyday. You might or might not have the best method but you will learn quickly if you practice the daily.

Take help from the Internet

There is a possibility that you might not be able to find regular classes that can be fitted into your work schedule or something similar. But if you are still determined about learning the language you can use help of the Internet. There are a lot of good courses online that you can make use of. Look around, find something that suits your purpose and practice daily. You will see that you start speaking French, fluently, soon.

Do you actually want to learn to speak French? If your answer is a truthful yes, then you’re already a good part of the way there. As someone who has learned both Spanish and French over the course of about seven years, I realize the ups and downs that are associated with learning a language. Inspiration and a thirst for learning a new language comes first. For many people, a lack of motivation or a stand-still in your learning often comes second and challenges your original mindset of truly wanting to learn another language.

Learning to speak the French language is a beautiful thing, awarding you with the ability to travel more confidently, communicate with tens of millions of more people & obtain life-long satisfaction that you are a more smarter, worldlier person that happened to raise their personal worth at the exact same time. It sounds like a sales pitch for a self-help book, I know, but with like a lot of major commitments, the payout is truly staggering.

Before you research the available language products or attempt to find the “easiest” way to learn to speak French, you have to realize that a half-hearted attempt at learning any new language will result in a waste of time and money. Whether you are learning French for a new job, a personal interest or for school, the ability to stick with it is the single most important part of learning a language. You have to learn the French language in the most comprehensive way unless you want all of your hard work to be in vain.

Prior to committing to learning hundreds of verbs in a foreign language and constructing sentences in an entirely different way, ask yourself if you really have the time, patience and resources to learn the French language. The answer could truly save you hundreds of dollars and allow you to learn the language in a better, more suitable time within your life. The best advice I can give you is to learn to speak French on your own terms.

If you type in your favorite search engine tool, “learn French online” you will notice that a lot of online programs and products come up as results to your search. This indicates a growing market that caters to French online programs and online instructional materials, which of course aims to help people learn this extraordinary language even without the help of a French instructor. Hiring a tutor to teach lessons once or twice a week can cost a lot of money, but with online learning websites, anybody with the interest and determination to learn French online will be able to master the language and be able to speak fluently to French-speaking people confidently.

But buying a product and learning the language by ear isn’t enough to really master the French language. If you want to effectively learn French online, you need to apply certain tips and guidelines that will help you memorize and eventually master the French language, or any other foreign language for that matter. As long as you have the determination and the willingness to learn and practice, you’ll be speaking French just like a professional. Here are some of those tips:

Read aloud even if it sounds weird or wrong at first. This helps you familiarize with the words and exercises the language centers in your brain, enabling you to memorize and eventually speak the language fluently.

Flash cards and other materials are also good in helping you memorize the vocabulary. If you’re confident enough, you can also use these to help you practice your grammar.

Do you want to learn how to speak French like a real native?

Many of my friends from the US learned the French language in their early age, but most of them can’t speak properly because they forgot almost everything. As you probably guessed, the key is to practice and speak regularly.

In this article, I am going you introduce you to my proven method to speak French faster. This works for any language by the way, I used my method to learn English, Spanish and Arabic in no time flat.

1. Don’t do what every over people do

You need to realize that you are unique and that you have to decide yourself how you will learn. This is the most important step.

You also need to know that there are several learning types. You need to find out what is the best way to learn for you. As an example, last week. I was talking with one of my old friends who is trying to learn a new language, and he told me that he can’t learn without images. He noticed that whenever he learned a new word, he would memorize it faster when he can see a picture.

Others prefer to listen and memorize.

Please don’t overlook this step because it will save you a lot of your precious time.

2. Complete Immersion

When I say immersion, I am not trying to sell you a ticket to go to Paris. I am just telling that you need to surround yourself with French speakers. If you can find native speakers or travel, it’s better, but it’s not required.

Do you know someone who is learning French in your town? If not, you can find someone on the Internet and speak with him on a daily basis. You can even use skype or hotmail.

Talking to someone else is one of the most powerful way to learn another language because it will force you to search the words you don’t know.

Planning a holiday or business trip to France? Or to Switzerland? Or Belgium? Or Canada? Or Luxemburg? Or any of the main 28 countries that speak French? (By the way French is the main language after English in the world) Read on!

Have you ever entertained the thought of learning French? What stopped you? Is it because you feel it is too hard? Is it because you are inundated with different courses and methods to use that you don’t know which ones to choose? Yeah, learning a new language can pinch your purse. But it doesn’t have to be that way! You’re about to chance upon some great tips on getting the hang of the French language and accent, quickly and easily.

The truth is learning French is a daunting task. It is the language where the French – English dictionary will not turn out to be your best friend. This is because of the big difference in grammar and pronunciation of English to the French language!

For example: You might want to mention to your hostess in France that you are hot. And instead of saying “J’ai chaud” – I’m hot, you’d say “Je suis chaud”. Translated literally in the English language they both mean I am hot, however in French it means something far vulgar than that. (More like telling a woman that she is good at making love!) So a slight misuse in the English – French dictionary can prove to put you into a highly uncomfortable position.

Moreover, with the amount of silent letters in French, you could get a hammer when you ask for bread!

In other words learning basic French on your own will prove to be a daunting task. However with the right tools, accent and key rules ie. the right information you can be confident in getting your way round France (or anywhere else for that matter), easily.

FOLLOWING ARE SOME GREAT TIPS:

~ A fantastic, and what has proved to be, a very successful idea, is to find a French mate with whom to talk French. You teach your pal English and he/she will teach you French. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you pick up the language.

Or if you can’t find a live mate with whom to talk French, then get a French online pal. You can find one in many French forums.

~ If you’re thinking of traveling with your kids there is a remarkable site created by the US government to educate children in popular foreign languages. All games and lessons in the language is FREE. Some adults have actually taught themselves a language through this site.

~ When choosing a course to learn French, be very careful not to buy a course that focuses mainly on grammar and vocabulary. You need to know how to SPEAK it.

~ Use every opportunity you have to read anything French that comes your way. Any person you meet who talks French, tell them that you are trying to learn the language and try to lead a conversation in French. Practical learning will accelerate your learning skills very quickly.

The French language is a beautiful sounding language that is a pleasure to learn. The problem I had when trying to learn though (and you probably have to) is that it’s difficult to learn a new language fast by reading a book. I began teaching myself French by reading many books, but never really made any significant progress, and certainly wasn’t confident of having a conversation in French. That all changed though thanks to lucky meeting!

Let me start by saying that learning a new language isn’t particularly difficult, but only if you are learning from a reliable source. This is to say that you need to be taught correctly and not just pick up any old book on “How to Speak French”. I think this is an error that many people make, and as a consequence a large percentage will never become fluent in speaking the French language as they give up because of slow progress.

At one stage I myself was going to give up learning French as I was finding it too difficult to get the hang of. Luckily for me I was introduced to a friend of a friend who happened to have learnt French. I felt embarrassed at first as he spoke a few sentences in French and wanted me to reply, but I couldn’t because I was simply not that advanced. I was quite amazed at how much of the language he knew so I began asking him how he learnt French. To my surprise he said that he began to learn French online.

My first impression when he mentioned learning French online was ordering a book to be delivered! It never occurred to me that there are high quality French learning resources online. The conversation that I had turned out to provide me with the advice that I needed and that has meant that I am now a fluent French speaker.

What made the difference by using this particular resource was that it didn’t solely depend on learning by reading through a book. It had hours of audio lessons, grammar lessons, and interactive software that really helps to clear up any misunderstandings you might have with sentence structure for example.

If you are thinking about learning French I would definitely say “go for it”! It’s a really nice language to speak and very enjoyable to learn. Please do yourself a favor though and save wasting money on the many French language guides available. Instead, invest in the same resource that I used and that I highly recommend in order to learn French online fast.
