A Re-Gifter’s Revenge
Gift giving can be torture for me. Each of us has that person on our gift list who is absolutely impossible to buy for. I had just such a person. A girlfriend of years. I never saw any gift I gave her in her home over the 20+ years I knew her. Maybe she just thought I had terrible taste. I also know that she was what Seinfeld referred to as a “re-gift-er”, packaging up gifts she’s received and giving them to others. I was able to beat her at her own game one year. I gave her the gift of personalized jewelry. I know that she was born in May so her birthstone is Emerald. I know that she loves sterling silver jewelry. I had the most lovely necklace custom made for her birthday. Almost every time I’ve seen her since I’ve seen her wearing that necklace. Just wait until Christmas when I give her the matching earrings!
